It’s the first day of a new year and many start it off with resolutions. I choose to start this year with a jigsaw puzzle. I’ve done this the last few years and find it a great way to remind myself to take a breath. Jigsaws take you back to a time when life was simple. A time where you enjoyed making your eyes and brain work together.
Puzzles provide many things: practice for your patience, a chance to slow down and relax, exercise for your brain, and in the end, a sense of accomplishment. I like to pick the puzzles that also provide a list of hidden items to find when you finish. Some people prefer to invite friends over to work a puzzle. You’d be amazed what conversations and laughter you can enjoy sharing this time with others. But puzzles also provide insight into who you are and give you time to explore who you want to be by freeing your mind.
I challenge you to try a puzzle in 2019 and see where it takes you!
